Compass Series

The Compass Series is a unique set of eight story books which has been specifically written and illustrated to enable pupils to explore aspects of the Key Stage 1 programme of study for Geography. All the books in the series are available in both Welsh and English.

Focusing on the lives of two fictional children living in contemporary Wales, the Compass Series collection of stories is both entertaining and educational. Each book is beautifully illustrated in full-colour and as young readers follow the adventures and travels of Bethan and Gareth, they are introduced to different localities and geographical features. The series is a useful tool for teaching key geographical terms and concepts, and also for improving general literacy.

The teacher¹s notes and pupil activity sheets which accompany the Compass Series are also available in Welsh or English FREE on this website.

There are 12 pages of general notes accompanied by a set of general activity sheets which you are free to download, print out and photocopy. We also currently have book specific teacher¹s notes and activity sheets for five out of the eight books in the series on this website.
